Little Things That Can Help You Get Organized
A Place For Everything and Everything in Its Place
There’s an old saying that there is a place for everything and everything belongs in its place. If you keep this in mind and apply it you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to keep your office or home organized.
Don’t Put It Down, Put It Away
When you get your mail don’t just throw it in a pile and “get to it later.” Take a moment, rarely more than four minutes, and go through your mail and immediately trash or recycle it. I review my mail right next to my recycle bin and am amazed at how much I don’t even open! What you don’t discard open and immediately file. The same holds true for paperwork from work, notices from schools – everything. Schedule an Organization Plus consult to learn the secret to an efficient mail processing system. Call (978) 922-6136.
File Don’t Pile
Piles of documents, mail, papers, even email inboxes can quickly turn into chaos. Adopt the mentality of “filing not piling.” To do this effectively you’ll have to have a good filing system that you like and is easy to use. A good filing system is a key component of my Three Hour Transformation.
Avoid STUFF
Have you seen “Hoarders” on the A&E network? Do you have too much stuff? Most people do. Start thinking “Do I really need this?” and “Do I have a place for this?” Ask yourself these questions BEFORE you buy something. Think QUALITY (of life) vs. just more stuff.
